This Proximity Switch has a 316L Stainless Steel Cylindrical housing with SPCO / SPDT (Form C) , volt free Palladium-Silver contacts. It has a maximum switching current of 4A and can be used for switching multiple voltages in AC or DC. These switches are able to sense ferrous material, such as carbon steel or stainless steel (17/4 or 400 series), through the end face at up to 2.5mm|0.10" and are reliable through millions of operations. Optional magnetic targets can be used to further increase sensing range. Meeting global certification requirements, their robust design makes them suitable for use throughout Class I & II Division 1 environments. Their fully encapsulated and dust-tight NEMA Type 7 & 9 construction makes them a reliable and proven alternative to mechnical (lever arm or roller) type limit switches with a much improved life expectancy in the following hazardous area designations: NEMA 7 Gas (Div. 1 & 2, Class I, Groups B, C, & D) and NEMA 9 Dust (Div. 1 & 2, Class II, Groups E, F, & G).
