ESMA (Emirates Authority For Standardization and Metrology) Technical Regulation (best known as ECASex (Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme) is
fully endorsed IECEx scheme as mandatory for the certification of electrical products intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The owner of the Electrical products covered by an ECASEx Certificate are responsible for:
ensuring that the Electrical product is installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, any conditions on
certification and the relevant requirements of IEC 60079-17 and IEC 60079-17.
maintaining copies of certification documentation supporting ECASEx Certificate.

Compliance with this ESMA Technical Regulation and Assessment Scheme are mandatory for any electrical, instrumentation equipment to ensure that
properly selected equipment is designed, procured and installed (including operation, maintenance, repair, relocation, and modification) with correct zone
classifications and Manufacturer’s certificates.
