Longvale has won a coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.
The company, which is based at Lancaster Park, Newborough Road, Needwood, manufactures industrial sensors used for harsh and hazardous areas for safety-related applications on industrial equipment in industries such as hydrogen, chemical, nuclear, power generation, military and rail. Owner and CEO Nathan Dear thanked the staff and said the company was now looking to expand. He also thanked Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce for its support.
He said: “The award is not for me but for the entire team at Longvale, who I want to thank as they have gone over and above to achieve this fantastic growth. In doing so they have established Longvale as the fastest growing sensor company in the UK and possibly globally, winning significant market share with the unique patented EuroSwitch products and the exemplary service and support we offer to our customers.
“I would also like to acknowledge the support Longvale has had from the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce Growth Fund which has enabled us to complete the new premises, thus increasing volumes to meet demand, and more than doubling our number of employees. Looking to the future as part of our five-year strategy we have plans to continue expanding, further extending our UK HQ as well as opening international facilities focusing on new markets and more innovative products.”
The firm is also involved in good deeds and donated 200 vouchers worth £66 each to a Christmas campaign run by the Burton Albion Community Trust, which is the charity arm of Burton Albion Football Club. The firm was also praised by Brewers chairman Ben Robinson. He thanked the team for their Christmas donation and said that he looked forward to working with them again.
Mr Robinson said: “It was a fantastic gesture from Nathan and his company Longvale, and we were delighted to be able to make it happen for them. Christmas is a special time, and this heart-warming gesture had a great impact and brought a lot of happiness.
“Now I’m delighted that Longvale has won this prestigious award. Nathan and his company share our determination to make an impact in the community and use business success to help make a difference locally, so we are pleased they have been recognised in this way. We are looking forward to working with them again in the future.”
