Proximity Switch - Radiation Resistant - High Temperature - Mild Nuclear Environment

This nuclear proximity switch is manufactured with a Stainless steel 316L housing, and is provided with a Side entry 360° Rotatable field wireable connection head for use in mild nuclear environments such as Balance of Plant (BOP) operations. It exceeds Global Environmental Non-LOCA and Post Fukushima Seismic requirements at 10G RIM, and is capable of operating between -40°C and 175°C . This model is also available ATEX IECEx and UKEx approved for Zone 1 and 0 use, employing Ex d and Ex ia protection concepts respectively.

It has volt free, silver-palladium contacts in SPCO / SPDT (Form C) arrangement, and is capable of switching up to 4A at AC or DC voltages from 6V up to 240V, and is reliable through millions of operations.

Being a non-contact proximity sensor it requires the use of EuroSwitch Nuclear Target Magnetic Actuators to operate reliably. Once set, it does not wear or need readjustment during its life time in numerous applications around the Nuclear Power Plant.

Suitable for use in the design of safety functions up to SIL3, these proximity switches meet the requirements of IEC 61508:2010 Routes 1H & 1S with Systematic Capability (SC3) as an element/subsystem suitable for use in safety related systems performing safety functions up to and including SIL 3 with HFT =1 (1oo2).
